Ensembles

Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra: A full symphony orchestra playing standard orchestral repertoire ranging from Beethoven masterpieces to contemporary world premieres. Rehearses from 2-5pm on Sundays at UNCG School of Music, Rm. 111. Conducted by Bruce Kiesling.

Classical Orchestra: A chamber orchestra of approximately 35 members that specializes in repertoire from the classical period, Mozart, Haydn, early Beethoven, etc. as well as more recent works for chamber orchestra. Rehearses from 1-2pm on Sundays at UNCG School of Music, Rm. 111, as needed. Conducted by Bruce Kiesling.

Youth Strings: An orchestra of approximately 60 members that focuses on String Orchestra repertoire for high school and advanced middle school students. Focus is on technique and ensemble skills. Rehearses from 3:30-5:00pm on Sundays at UNCG School of Music, Rm. 110. Conducted by Karen Collins.

Allegro Strings: An string orchestra of approximately 30 members that focuses on introduction to ensemble playing and techniques. For beginning players and those in the first years of instruction. Rehearses from 2-3:30pm on Sundays at UNCG School of Music, Rm. 110. Conducted by Gregorio Midero.
