membership policies
Please read and familiarize yourself with the GSYO Handbook. At auditions, musicians (parents, for musicians under 18) need to sign the application form, which states “I will abide by the ensemble acceptance and seating decisions of the conductors. If I am accepted, I will enroll as a member. I understand the attendance, behavior, and tuition policies as outlined in the Youth Orchestra Program Handbook.”

To participate in the GSYO, students and parents must complete the following forms.

The School Form is to certify that the student is a member in good standing of their school music program. The form must be signed by the school music director.

The Health Form must be on file with the GSYO in order for the student to attend the GSYO Retreat.

Students in Youth Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra are allowed one excused absence per concert cycle, with the exception of sectional rehearsals and retreat. Students in Youth Philharmonic, Youth Strings and Allegro are allowed one absence per calendar month.

Absence requests must be made and approved in advance, or the absence will not be considered excused.
